Adriano Cabrera
Visual Identity & Packaging for Galapagos Specialty Coffee
Context & Vision
Adriano Cabrera is more than a coffee brand; it is a piece of history from the "Hacienda El Trapiche Ecológico" in the Galapagos Islands. As a pioneer in local production, Adriano’s farm is a world-renowned destination for eco-tourism. The vision was to design an identity that serves as both a premium product and a tangible souvenir of the "Enchanted Isles," capturing the essence of a man whose life is inextricably linked to the volcanic soil of the archipelago.
Design Methodology
The challenge was to create a visual language that communicates the unique character of its origin. I developed a graphic proposal centered around a sophisticated, historically-inspired serif typography that evokes the authenticity of traditional coffee estates. The primary symbol is a custom-illustrated portrait of Adriano, paired with his gestural signature. This human-centric approach transforms the brand into a personal testimonial, reinforcing the "hand-crafted" and "pioneer" attributes of the product.
The Solution & Impact
The packaging system was engineered to evoke warmth and mystery, utilizing textures and finishes that reflect a deep connection to the territory. By blending a classic aesthetic with modern technical specs for coffee preservation, the brand achieved a premium market position. The impact was further amplified by its appearance in global media (featured by Luisito Comunica), showcasing the identity to millions as a symbol of Galapagos’ agricultural excellence. It is no longer just a bag of coffee; it is an invitation to return to the islands.
